Bar Method Charlotte-SouthPark Success Story: KatyClient since August 2015 - Attends class 3-4 times a week

I had tried a number of different work out programs, from work out DVDs to a personal trainer but nothing seemed to click. I honestly believed I must be one of those people who just didn’t like to work out and making myself get to the gym would always be a struggle. Walking into my first class, I was so nervous! I felt like everyone knew something, or someone, that I didn’t. But that didn’t last long. The smiles and encouraging energy from the instructors quickly dissipated my initial “anxiety. After 1 week of classes, I was hooked! I was planning my whole week around my classes, telling everyone I knew about it and seeing great results.

Every day I walk into class I am greeted by a smiling face. Throughout class, I feel challenged and encouraged. No matter the size of the class, the instructors always make sure you are using correct form and challenging yourself. The work out requires you to remain mentally present in the moment the entire class. As soon as I start thinking about my to-do list for the rest of the day, I hear my name reminding me to keep my shoulders back or lift my heels a little higher and it allows me to maximize my mind body connection and keeps me focused on the work at hand.

I have seen both physical and mental transformations that I didn’t think were possible. Slowly but surely, I started to find myself improving on things I couldn’t do when I first started taking classes. Now, I can do 20 push-ups on my hands and feet, stay in chair for the entire set and touch my toes!! All these little victories have led me to a much bigger victory which is a happier, healthier me. Bar Method has taught me that I can achieve whatever I put my mind to and that no improvement is too small to celebrate. I have learned to be kinder to myself, to give myself credit for just showing up and trying to push myself I little further then I did the day before. I am so grateful for the wonderful Bar Method community and can’t wait to continue on my journey to a stronger and happier me!
